Ar teko kada girdėti apie Semiramidės sodus?
Semiramidės sodai – tai daugeliui žinomas objektas kitu pavadinimu, kabantieji sodai, kuris buvo pastatytas Eufrato pakrantėje, senovės garsiame mieste Babilone. Kabantieji sodai – visas sodų kompleksas, kuris, šiuo metu yra įvardintas kaip vienas iš septynių pasaulio stebuklų.

Tyrinėtojai spėja, kad Kabantieji sodai galėjo būti sukurti apie 600 m. pr. m. e. ir atpasakoja senovės Graikų legendą, kurioje pasakojama kodėl buvo sukurtas šis sodų kompleksas. Legendoje kalbama, kad karaliaus Nabuchodonosaro II žmona Semiramidė (Amysis) labai ilgėjosi savo namų, kuriuos, Persijos kalnuose ji kadaise paliko. Karalius pastebėjo, kad jo žmona labai liūdi dėl paliktų savo namų Persijoje, todėl nusprendė pabandyti jai įtikti sukurdamas didžiulius sodus, kurie turėjo jai atstoti miškingą ir kalnuotą gimtinę.

Galiausiai, Kabantys sodai buvo užbaigti ir siekė apie 40 metrų aukštį. Juos sudarė viena virš kitos sukurtos terasos, kurios kilo viena už kitą mažėjančia tvarka ir žvelgiant iš toliau, priminė piramidės formą. Statinys turėjo būti arčiau užės, kad sodų kompleksą būtų lengviau drėkinti. Viso Kabančiųjų sodų statinį laiko labai didelis ir ketvirtainis pamatas. Pigios keliones po šią vietovę leidžia pajausti senovės Graikų istorijos dvelksmą.
Iš visos senovės Graikų imperijos, į Kabančius sodus buvo gabenami įvairūs augalai – tai granatai, vijoklinės rožės, vandens lelijos, figos, riešutmedžiai, migdolai ir daugelis kitų šios šalies kultūros augalų. Eufrato upė tarnavo viso šio sodų komplekso drėkinimui. Įspūdingas reginys ir sodo drėkinimo įrenginys, kuris vandenį kėlė į patį terasų viršų, o tekėdamas žemyn vanduo ne tik drėkindavo sodus, bet karštomis dienomis juo vėsindavo. Manoma, kad Kabančiuose soduose įrengtose didelėse salės vykdavo įspūdingos to meto puotos.
